Day 01:  fly to Lalibela and a day sight seeing tour of the famous rock Hewn churches of Lalibela clustered around the local river Jordan. O/N stay in a hotel at Lalibela

Day 02: Morning drives from Lalibela to Filakit (is the administrative centre for Meket (Woreda) district and then start your trek to Mequat Mariam Community site. You may drive or trek from Filakit to an old church of Werkhaye Mariam dedicated to St Mary, and then continue trekking to Mequat Mariam exploring the life country side people ( 3 :30 trekking hours). O/n Mequat in community Tukuls.

Day 03: morning breakfast and then start trekking to Wajela along the escarpment for much of the way with good views of the river systems and farm land below. You will have chance to see Gelada Baboon along these escarpments, Rock Hyrax, even a Klipspringer. It takes about 6-7 hours trekking time to get to Wajela but you can divert to other short cut route also. O/n Wajela in community Tukuls

Day 04: Breakfast and then start trekking to Ataro following the Northern side of the escarpment exploring the church of Dejen Georgis and the old church of Akat Abo and Akat Markos and possibly Akat Medahinealem and finally to Ataro community. Aterow is the best Gelada Baboon spotting site, with quite sizable troops living on the cliffs that head down to the gorge. The total walk is 5-6 hours. O/n Ataro in community Tukuls.

Day 05: The community site of Ataro is close to the junction town of Gashena connecting Lalibela, Bahir Dar, Gondar, Dessie, Weldiya and Mekele. you will trek following the path that drops down to a waterfall and then the farm land crossing Lalibela road and then a steeper decent to the church of  Yadukalay Georgis church in a woodland with many Olive trees. Yadukulay is a small forest dwelling animal that used to be abundant in the area. We are still trying to figure out what kind of animal it is. Yadukalay is the newest site, with its two story Tukuls, and panoramic views. The total walk is 5-6 hours. O/n Yadukulay in community Tukuls 06: Breakfast and then morning walking from Yadukulay to the village of Taja, from (1-2 hours) from where our vehicle and drive picks you for driving back to Lalibela and possibly making a worthwhile detour to the rock church of Yedoga Abo.
