Kidus yohannes (New Year’s Day)

Ethiopian new year also known as Enkutatash is an important family and social event. Traditionally new clothes are bought and worn,  particularly by children, relatives and friends are visited. Special feasts are prepared. The traditional game of gugs can sometimes be seen.
